Sunday Best

Ahhh..Sunday, the day of rest. I am all for resting on Sunday but there always seems to be something else that needs done. After church, there is cooking lunch, washing dishes, folding clothes, and helping the hubby with a little project. The day just seems to fly by. I lost my 7 year old for awhile today...not seriously...just let her play with the neighbor boy! He has a trampoline! She misses playing with girls but at least she has 3 boys nearby! I worry that she will be a tomboy but I guess that isn't so bad. Anyway now that she is found again, I must give her the attention she needs. And supervise her piano lesson. What a glorious day! I know that I should slow down and rest on Sunday but I am always playing "catch up" with my household. So my verse for today is:
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.Exodus 20:10-12

Ahhhh...my least favorite day of the year! Tax Day! This is the day that people complain that they have paid too much in taxes and received too little from the government in return. Truth be told, I have done my fair share of complaining. I am always a little peeved when I see a perfectly healthy person who is milking the system that I and all you other worker bees contribute to constantly! Who decides who is able to work? Do they really take into account that person's desires for a "good" job? Is there really something wrong with all of the people who do not work or is it laziness? I have no answer. I only know that I saved up my sick leave for 3 years in order to have 7 weeks off when my daughter was born. I saved for the next 7 years to be able to take off 3 weeks to have all of my baby producing parts taken out. Since age 16, I have held a job, went to college, had two children, raised four children, and held down a JOB! This was in addition to the job that I have at home when the work day is finished! I say that if a person, man or woman, is able they should be taking care of themselves and any small people they chose to bring into this world! So will I complain on this annual day of taxation? Well so far this is the first time today that I have had a free moment to myself, all my work is finished (in both places), my children are happily playing with one another, and I am ready for a shower and bed. So, NO, I probably won't complain today! Today I am just happy to have both jobs, a roof over my head, and plenty to eat. Thank you Lord for your many blessings!
Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.Exodus 23:11-13

The Test of a Teacher Beginning

What does it take to be an excellent teacher? An excellent teacher does massive amounts of preparation for a 50 minute class, brings all Science experiment materials from her own kitchen, listens to all the problems her students have whether they happen at school or at home, is a nurse to those in need, a comforter to those in pain, real or imagined, and the list goes on and on.....
If you know of a really excellent teacher, let him or her know how you feel! The most simplest words of praise or thanks will leave your favorite teacher feeling renewed with purpose, love, and happiness. Don't we all like to be appreciated for the work we do?
One of the greatest teachers of all time was Jesus. When was the last time we thanked him or gave him words of praise?

PSA 18:49 Therefore I will praise you among the nations, O LORD; I will
sing praises to your name.

30:4 Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name.

12 that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will
give you thanks forever.

35:18 I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of
people I will praise you.
