Ahhhh...my least favorite day of the year! Tax Day! This is the day that people complain that they have paid too much in taxes and received too little from the government in return. Truth be told, I have done my fair share of complaining. I am always a little peeved when I see a perfectly healthy person who is milking the system that I and all you other worker bees contribute to constantly! Who decides who is able to work? Do they really take into account that person's desires for a "good" job? Is there really something wrong with all of the people who do not work or is it laziness? I have no answer. I only know that I saved up my sick leave for 3 years in order to have 7 weeks off when my daughter was born. I saved for the next 7 years to be able to take off 3 weeks to have all of my baby producing parts taken out. Since age 16, I have held a job, went to college, had two children, raised four children, and held down a JOB! This was in addition to the job that I have at home when the work day is finished! I say that if a person, man or woman, is able they should be taking care of themselves and any small people they chose to bring into this world! So will I complain on this annual day of taxation? Well so far this is the first time today that I have had a free moment to myself, all my work is finished (in both places), my children are happily playing with one another, and I am ready for a shower and bed. So, NO, I probably won't complain today! Today I am just happy to have both jobs, a roof over my head, and plenty to eat. Thank you Lord for your many blessings!
Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.Exodus 23:11-13
